I knew Eddie for over 30 years, and he was my friend and neighbor at 210 West 19th Street. I helped him manage his apartments, advised him, he advised me and most of all he was a generous, kind, stubborn, strong man who loved and protected his family fiercely and always asked me to take care of them and advise them if they wanted. I was at Redden's today and was very moved by what his children said about him and know he would be touched and very proud. My memories of Eddie will always be of us standing in front of the building - Ed on his bike, and us talking about working out and the best exercises to do! It was something we both had in common. He was a wonderful man and a caring, loving father who always strived to teach his children the lessons he had learned over his life. A life that was not easy, but made him the man he was, that all who know him respected. God Bless Eddie and his family. RIP. With much affection, Laurie Lewis.
