Obituary for Juan Esteban Perdomo

Juan Esteban Perdomo, 27, of Clifton NJ, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday July 31st 2021.

Juan was born on June 22, 1994 in Bogota, Colombia. Juan's family relocated to New Jersey, United States in 1997, when he was 3 years old. Juan was naturalized as an American Citizen on November 14, 2014.

Juan attended and graduated from Clifton High School where he was a part of the United States Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Leadership Education Program. This program played a major role in inspiring Juan to enlist in the United States Air Force soon after his high school graduation. Juan completed his basic training in September of 2013. He then went on to complete Emergency Medical Technicians Training in January 2014, Aerospace Medical Service Training in April of 2014 and Expeditionary Medical Support Health Response Team Training in May of 2017. Juan was stationed in Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas before being deployed to Qatar in 2017. During this time Juan was awarded the Meritorious Unit Award, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award and the Air Force Training Ribbon. Juan was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 2018.

After his honorable discharge from the Air Force, Juan attended PACE University and majored in Economics all while continuing to serve his country in the Air National Guard where he was notably a vital part of the New Jersey COVID-19 Pandemic Response Task Force. Juan graduated PACE University in 2021 with a degree in Economics. Juan was actively pursuing his masters degree at PACE University while concurrently pursuing his dream of joining the New Jersey State Police to serve alongside his big brother David Perdomo and best friend Peter Munoz Aquino.

Juan was a great friend, a wonderful son and the best brother. Everyone who had the honor of knowing Juan would describe him as the most loving, caring, genuine, honest, selfless, and patriotic man they've ever known. Juan was instantly loved the moment he walked into any room his smile and laugh were infectious. Juan was an incredibly driven young man who placed family and loyalty above all else. Juan loved his life, his country, his friends and his family.

He is preceded in death by his mother Luz Dary Montoya and his maternal grandmother Margarita Ofelia Grajales.

Juan is survived by his father Octavio Perdomo (Bogota, Colombia), his wife Lala and their daughter Juanita. Juan is also survived by his loving brother David Alejandro Perdomo, his wife Dannielle, his niece Isabella Perdomo, his nephew Nicholas Perdomo and his nephew Tyler Perdomo. Juan is also survived by his loving sister Natalia De Prado and her husband Diego De Prado.
