Obituary for Evelyn Triantafillou
Evelyn Fine Triantafillou, 84, of Manhattan died Tuesday morning at the ICU of Bellevue
Hospital Cardiology Department.
Born in Brooklyn, daughter of Harry and Pollia Fine, she was a graduate of Julia Richman High School and received a BA from Fordham University. She was an administrator in the English Department of the Fashion Institute of Technology from 1981 until retiring in 2017.
Surviving are husband Socrates Triantafillou, and son Niko Triantafillou and wife Julie Kramer.
Evelyn was an avid singer and concert goer. She and Socrates organized the a capella vocal singing group, Chelsea Song. Directed by a professional singer, the group met twice per month in their apartment and sang songs spanning a wide range of music from classical to folk.
There will be a private memorial gathering.
