Obituary for Peter B. Heller

Heller – Dr. Peter B., Professor, of New York City died on January 15, 2022. He was born in Paris in 1926 and lived in Europe and Egypt. He spoke eight languages. He earned his B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. at New York University and taught international studies, comparative politics and American government at Manhattan College for 55 years, before retiring in 2018. His life-long dedication to teaching was also well known to many appreciative senior communities in Riverdale, where he frequently lectured on current events and global issues. For this, he was presented with a Certificate of Recognition from the New York State Assembly. Dr. Heller was predeceased by his wife Prudence (Turner) Heller and by his parents, Dr. Robert and Ilona (Fodor) Heller, and his sister Mrs. Murcia (Robert) Ridout. He is survived by several nephews living here and abroad, a niece, and many cherished friends. A private funeral service will be held.
