Phyllis always liked to tell the story of how she learned to walk.
She loved being carried by her dad, who treated her like a princess. He carried her everywhere so she didn't want to learn to walk. Finally, at 18 months, he got her to take her first steps by holding a chocolate and having her walk to him. Still...... when she was in first grade, her teachers said she had to learn to climb the stairs -- she never learned because her daddy carried her (I guess even chocolate wasn't convincing enough)! She was truly well-loved and cherished by him.
Most who know her would agree that a day probably did not go by that Phyllis did not enjoy a chocolate treat. I think that the chocolate reminded her of her daddy, and what it felt like to be treated like a princess.
